Medical fitness certificate for railway staff (according to BAV)
All persons who drive locomotives or want to accompany them on a driving duty must, before their training and then at regular intervals, in accordance with the statutory provisions (Art. 12 and 13 of the Ordinance on Safety-Relevant Activities in the Railway Sector [STEBV], as well as Art. 13 and 40 of the UVEK ordinance on authorization to drive traction vehicles [VTE], undergo a medical examination.
With us, as a recognized medical trustee facility of the Federal Office of Transport (BAV), you can have this medical fitness check carried out quickly and easily.
The examination lasts approximately 75 minutes and includes the following elements:
- Collection of medical history
- Physical examination
- blood and urine tests
- Various eye exams Audiometry (hearing test)
- Resting ECG
Please bring the following documents with you to the examination appointment:
- Identity card or identity card
- Completed and signed medical questionnaire - BAV (Bring signed original - do not send by e-mail!)
- Signed confirmation form:
- Confirmation from the applicant or driver (driving ID obligatory) Annex 2a
- Confirmation from the applicant or driver (no driving ID obligatory) Annex 2c - Glasses passport or last glasses prescription (if you have to wear corrective lenses)
Please remember that you will have to give us a urine sample and should therefore not go to the toilet just before the appointment.
